Welcome to Tech Talk. Why am I doing Tech Talk when I’M JUST A MOM? Well, for those of you who doesn’t know, I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. I work fulltime as a Programmer/Analyst – yes, I do get down and dirty with codes, and I even dream of them at night sometimes! I maybe just a mom (which I’m so dang proud of), but I’m a hot mom, and I know my tech, baby!
Don’t worry, I’m not gonna pollute your minds with binary codes. I’m here to share awesome resources that I’ve been using and so far been helping me be productive with my business. So, if you want to stop wasting time and start moving forward with your blogs and businesses, read on…
Let’s talk about Twitter on this post. I love Twitter. That’s where I’ve been meeting like-minded people and creating meaningful, productive relationships. I say productive because I learn a great deal from them. Things that help me move forward. How are you doing on Twitter? How much time are you spending each day trying to “network” hoping to get them to be interested enough on you and visit your blog? How is it working for you?
If you’ve finally come to your senses and would now rather spend your time building your business than chatting all day, you might want to give Tweetspinner a try. Before I’ve heard of this tool, I would spend countless hours managing my Twitter account. I would “hunt” for people who are worthy of following, hoping they’d follow me back, and most often, I’d end up with bots and spammers following me. I would try to squeeze in time to tweet quotes and tips as I’m trying to provide value to my followers. I would try to “socialize” with my followers and I would also try to tweet about my new posts (if I remember to). These tasks alone can take my whole day if I don’t limit myself. And really, I can barely see a “return” for the time I’ve invested.
When I started using Tweetspinner, I had to spend sometime setting it up. It’s a wonderful tool to have but if you don’t spend the time to configure and customize it, it will not work for you. I spent about a day and a half tweaking it before I was happy to leave it alone and let it do its wonders for me. Here’s what I love about it:
- I can customize it to find and follow people I would like to follow based on my keywords. It does NOT follow bots or known spammers.
- I can set it so that it automatically “unfollow” people who doesn’t follow me back within a set number of days.
- It unfollows people based on your settings as well.
- I can create a list of my old posts and have it tweet randomly at a set number of time and frequency. Gone are the days that my old posts are buried and forgotten.
- I can create any list (quotes, tips, shoutouts, etc) and have it tweeted randomly every set frequency. This way, I provide value to my followers regularly without having to remember to do it.
- I can setup personalized welcome messages to my new followers.
- It automatically cleans up the spams from my DM inbox.
- I can also “prune” people I’m following based on my settings.
- The possibilities of using the tweetscript that this tool has are endless.
I also combined Tweetspinner with Facebook’s selective Tweets app so that it automatically updates my Facebook profile AND my Facebook fan page with tweets that I want to be posted there. That’s a great time saver for me!
So now, when I log in to my Hootsuite, the first thing I do is just check what tweets were sent on my behalf and proceed with socializing with people for a set time, then go on with my day. Check this out, Tweetspinner have FREE TRIAL OFFER so you can see how productive you can be with this tool.
