In our quest for becoming the best moms that we can be, we tend to focus our time and energy in taking care of the kids and the whole family, leaving our needs the least of our priorities. This routine drains our energy, health, and confidence, leaving us feeling frumpy — the farthest thing from feeling sexy!
Here are some mom tips on how you can gain back your confidence, and your inner hotness:
There are two states of being: the state of ignorance and the state of enlightenment.
People who live in ignorance are not simply aware that their thoughts and actions create their reality. They continue to think and speak negatively and have no idea why they always get what they don’t want in life. They ALWAYS blame others for their unhappiness.
Here are some quotes and definitions I’ve gathered from several places about what a hot mom is:
“Being a Hot Mom means being respected as a mom and a woman. And, the key to being a Hot Mom is having a sense of humor about yourself and all the crazy situations that arise.” Jami Gertz

I don’t know suave, but if they have an organic line, we can definitely spend my precious mom time getting to know each other
It’s new year. Everybody’s busy making new goals and priorities for 2009. Everyone, except me. I feel weird. Usually, I would have something listed in my pda. But not this year. Somehow, I found myself busy and obsessed with de-cluttering! I’ve been throwing a lot of stuff — mostly papers from my office in the past couple of days. Have cleared my closet of clothes I no longer “want”. Even those that are quietly seating in boxes in the basement are bothering me. I’ll be calling salvation army soon to get rid of those boxes — as soon as I clear my children’s closet of their unwanted stuff as well.
So why am I so obsessed with getting rid of stuff instead of setting my goals for the year? Something tells me that I have to make room. Make room for what? I have no idea. Whatever it is, I just got to put my trust on my intuitive side.
According to Cheryl Richardson’s book “Take Time For Your Life“, clutter is one of the things that drains people their energies. The stuff that we hold on to, either in our heads, or in our environment, takes up space that could be available for new opportunities, great people, additional business, or even more money.
Something tells me that my plate is too full right now to be adding new goals and my obsession with de-clutterring is my way of creating space for better things to come into my life. So there you go my hot mom friends. Make way for a happy new you, by saying good bye to all the things you no longer need and no longer serve you.
Omigosh. After watching (and taking pictures of course) my kids happily open all their presents from friends, family, and santa, and clean up all their mess, I’ve decided to take a break and spend my precious mom time checking up emails.
While surfing, I came across this site (and I’m so thankful I did!) called healthytoys.org. It provides a listing of the best toys based on products that had no detectable traces of lead, cadmium, chlorine, arsenic, mercury, antimony, tin, bromine, or chromium. They have about 278 products in that list.
What’s more interesting is their list of the worst toys according to levels of those chemicals I just listed above. The levels for each of those toys are really frightening! You can also click on each of the product to see a picture of what it looks like. I immediately checked to see if my kids got any of those toys — thankfully not.
Another cool thing about the site is that not only can you search from their toys database, you can also submit a request to them to test a new toy that you may have which is not on their database.
I know you’re itching to see the lists already so here they are:
Shopping for 40 kids, friends, and family can get really stressful. No, those 40 gifts are not for charity. They’re not for my kids’ class either. They’re for my children’s friends, and our friends’ kids — the closest ones! The ones we hang out almost every weekend. So to maintain my sanity during the holidays, I follow some basic guidelines, I call my mom tips for holiday shopping.
I make a list. I have a spreadsheet keeping track of each family, friend, and kids. I wouldn’t want to miss anybody close so before Thanksgiving, I check and update it since that list keeps growing every year. This list has been trimmed down, by the way.
I have a budget in place. I do have a long list so holiday shopping can get really expensive. Setting a budget and sticking to what I can afford is not only a huge time-saver but keeps me out of debt.
I shop early. Dealing with crowds add to stress so I try to shop early and get it done by Thanksgiving. I still have to deal with wrapping it all up so last minute gift shopping for everyone in my case would not be possible.
I shop online. I find a lot of good deals online so I try to buy as much as I can from sites I trust. This is not only a huge time saver for me but keeps me from dealing with crowds, and keeps my budget in place. Some of them includes gift wrapping, though I prefer to wrap the gifts myself.
And speaking of wrapping gifts, I just got done with wrapping gifts for the kids. Whooo-hoooo! Wrapping 40 gifts is a huge milestone for me. I was so happy that I took a picture of our christmas tree. My hubby even took me out to Ruby Tuesday for some crab cake burger!
