Botox is the most common thing I hear from people when I ask them about their anti-aging secret. Expensive branded facial creams are also a popular routine. I was on my way to work this morning and was listening to the popular radio show “Eric And Kathy” when they’ve started talking about this hot mom tip that Kathy got from her acupuncturist on how to preserve your youthfulness, so I was all ears of course. According to her, eating bird’s nest is supposedly a very effective way of preserving youthfulness and vibrance. And so, without hesitation, she has actually incorporated that in her lifestyle.
My first reaction was, “eeeeuuuuwwww”! I was envisioning her to be climbing trees and stealing nests from those poor birds along with the gory details of what you can find in there. Apparently, you just don’t randomly rob those poor creatures of their home. It’s actually some product that you buy in chinese stores wherein they go into this process of “processing” nests of specific birds. It has something to do with that special bird’s saliva. So in other words they are after the bird’s saliva which is supposedly abundant in bird’s nests. And according to Kathy, it’s suppose to be a fountain of youth.
I don’t use any special creams or botox (I don’t think I need that yet), and haven’t tried eating a bird’s nest or spit, but I am a proponent of living an active and healthy lifestyle to the point that almost everything my family eat and uses are organic and all-natural. I believe that what you put in your body, how you live your life and manage stress as well as your attitude are very critical in maintaining overall wellness and beauty. But who knows, maybe ten years from now you’ll see me munching on those crunchy bird’s nests too! LOL!
What’s your anti-aging secret? Do you also eat bird’s nest? What do you do right now to preserve your youthful looks and energy? Share your hot mom tips with us here on mom cafe.

I really love the Oil of Olay product line. I remember watching my mom use it as a child and thinking, “wow, what a waste of time!” But now, I’m an Oil of Olay child and thankful for it too!
My anti-aging secret? Keeping my fingers crossed that I look as good as my Mom, Gram and Great Gram look at their ages of 43, 60 something and 89
Raw food and Hot yoga – and some AMAZING supplements.. MSM for example, helped me reverse some disturbing signs of arthritis and in the year and a half I’ve been sticking to my Raw Food diet my energy, skin, flexiblilty and glow is FAR better than before.
I highly recommend it for people who are seriously into anti-aging
Wow! Don’t know if I could eat something that is or was birds saliva!! I like to look good, but I don’t think I could stomach that. I don’t really use anything yet. Just neutragena moisturizer with spf 15, but that’s it. My grandmother always had this routine with all of these different cremes, but I am not sure it really worked. She is beautiful anyway, even with wrinkles at 94 years old!
