Rebecca Fyfe is a wife and a mother to seven children from the ages of 1 through 18. She was born and raised in California, but moved to England in 2002 to be with her English husband. She creates designs for her on-line store and recently has branched out by searching out other artists’ great designs to add to her products to sell in her store at Moonduster’s. She also has an affiliate store called Princess Parade.
Becky is a writer. She is working on two novels in the fantasy and science-fiction genre, and she has written three children’s stories which are currently in the process of being illustrated. She also blogs regularly.
Becky blogs on many subjects. She has a blog about her weight loss of almost 140 pounds at Skinny Dreaming, a blog about the challenge of writing at Imagine! Create! Write!, a blog about princesses (in honor of her younger daughters who love princesses) at Princess Parade, a blog about fairies at Fairy Magic Gifts, a blog about her family at Giggles & Kisses and even a blog about her unusual dreams at Moonduster’s Dream Journal. She has created Facebook pages for all of her blogs and tries to keep them up-to-date.
Becky finds it challenging to balance her work and her family life. Having small children means her time is not her own. Throughout her day, she has to try and fit in work on her on-line stores and on her blogs with time for exercise, time for household chores and time for her kids. While some of her kids are school-aged, she still has some younger children at home who demand a lot of her time during the day.
Becky has found that in order to keep some measure of control in her life, she has to let the housework slide a bit, and she has to prioritize her responsibilities. Her children are important to her, especially because they are young and growing fast. She knows that she will never be able to get these days of their childhood back once they are gone, so they come first in her priorities. She uses her children’s naptimes and quiet playtimes to get some of her work and exercise done. She manages to fit in more work and writing once the children go to bed at night.
Becky uses her time to exercise as time for herself. She has managed the skill of reading while using the elliptical crosstrainer in her home, and so manages to get in a bit of reading while she exercises. She has always loved reading and so this helps her to look forward to her exercise sessions on the crosstrainer. She and her husband wait until all of the younger children have gone to bed and then, leaving the teenagers in charge, they go for long walks together with their dog. This gives them quiet time alone together to chat about the day’s events and to touch base with each other.
Becky considers her time exercising, her time reading and her time with her husband as equally important. Keeping the marriage strong and the two of them feeling connected is important in keeping the family unit strong as a whole, and keeping herself fit, strong and energetic is important both in being a good example for her kids and in being healthy enough to cope with raising them. She believes strongly that she owes it to her kids as much as to herself to be as healthy as she possibly can be. Reading helps her to enrich her mind and helps keep her imagination fresh and active. As with exercise, the act of reading provides a good example for her children.
Becky believes that every mother out there needs to believe in herself and in her ability to achieve her dreams. In losing almost 140 pounds, Becky learned a valuable life-lesson and that is that nothing is out of your reach if you are willing to believe in your ability to achieve it and if you are willing to take whatever steps are necessary to get you to your dream.

Thanks, great inspiration. Finding balance everyday is tricky. My family spends time together out hiking, surfing, my husband and I go on “yoga” dates or “swim”dates. Multi tasking may not be ideal but it keeps us vibrant. Thanks for your great content.
