    Katie,

Great post! You really touched on an important subject…juggling all of our different roles as mothers and business owners AND the need to create focused quality time for our family. After all, that’s what is most important! Thanks for this & here’s to your success!

    Take care,

I think you are right about trusting your inner voice. When my children were born, attachment parenting was barely heard of. I would always go to my baby when she cried. Everyone around me told me that I was spoiling her and that she was manipulating me. And she would be difficult as she got older.

Well, I trusted my intuition. That if my baby was crying, she needed something. And maybe she just wanted me.

Needless to say, she is not manipulative or spoiled at all. Far from it. She is a secure, level headed teenager.

But I think it’s very hard for some women to trust their intuition. I think leading by example is the best way to help other women.

Thanks Katie for being a great role model!

Becca- thanks so much for your comment. Its so important that we remember WHY we take on the challenge of starting our own business. My reason why is so that I CAN have the flexibility to have my family come first as well as know that financially we are secure.

Debbie- Being a new mom, it can get a little frustrating with everyone offering their advice- I think its so important to follow your gut. The research is now showing that attachment parenting results in more self sufficient children and adults. I think its impossible to spoil an infant by responding to their cries. Good for you for listening to you gut, even when it wasn’t the most popular thing to do!

I love reading about you being a ‘hot mom’!! I think Cherrie had the greatest idea sharing all of this! My favorite decade was when my children were born and through the preschool years! They’re about all grown and I’m like you there is still not enough time in the day!!
