Debbie Lattuga was blessed to be an at home mom to two wonderful little girls. And she is reaping the benefits now that her girls are 15 and 17 years old. She has been married to the man of her dreams for 20 years. When her girls got beyond toddlerhood, she realized that she wasn’t sure who she was anymore.
Before she married and had children, she was a working woman with lofty executive goals. But after she became a wife and mother, those goals didn’t fit anymore. She felt she was drowning in lack of identity. Being very left-brained, she was startled to discover that gardening and sewing could fill her soul. What she needed was a creative outlet.
It’s then she made a commitment to help other women tap their inborn creativity. She felt that creative expression filled her soul. Now Debbie is an expressive artist using visual art, music, dance and journaling as a way of connecting to herself and her community. As part of her creative outlet, she fell in love with photography and blogging. She started the blog Best SLR Camera as she witnessed the frustration her friends went through trying to by their first digital SLR camera.
But she felt that Best SLR Camera didn’t really fill her soul, so she breathed new life into an old blog called Invisible Heartstrings. It’s about filling your soul and finding your passion and staying on the path of personal growth. She helps people re-establish their creative connection and uplevel their happiness.
Debbie has found the best way to balance family and her blogs is by always putting family first. She works on her blogs early in the morning before her family gets up, and late at night. Her passion for her work makes this easy to accomplish.
But whenever Debbie faces challenges, she uses creative art to overcome them. Although growing up left-brained, she finds creative art the fastest path to discovering solutions to challenges. And whenever things become overwhelming, she heads to her art studio for rest and rejuvenation.
She feels all women would benefit by adding more creative expression to their lives. And by tapping their inborn creativity they will re-discover their inner light and then shine that light on the world around them.

And when that time comes, I’m sure I’d be a regular to your Best SLR Camera site too
I hope you continue to reach more moms out there and be able to inspire them with your empowering insights as well. Way to go, hot mom!

Ooh! I love photography! *heads over to have a read at Debbie’s blogs*
Benefit by adding more creative expression to our lives? Interesting! I am definately not a creative person and find helping to do visual book reports with my 1st grader as challenging and about as creative as I get. I loved reading about someone who is the opposite of that and how we can use creative expression to enhance our lives. Definately something to ponder!
Great post!! Very nice to meet Debbie!
