When it comes to giving a gift, give something your loved one really needs — one that promotes a healthy and active lifestyle. Here are some ideas of what you can give, a.k.a I’m A Hot Mom’s Holiday Gift Guide:
Active Lifestyle:
- Certificate or gift card for a personal training session, a dance class, water aerobics, you get the picture. Get one for yourself and you have a workout buddy.
- A gardening basket filled with packets of herb seeds, a pair of garden gloves, and hat.
- An exercise dvd or accessories like jump rope, weights, pedometer, heart rate monitor, etc.
- A gift card to a local sporting goods store.
- Roller blades, scooter, bike, etc. We gave roller blades to the kids last year. We’ll probably sign them up to a dance or swimming class this year.
- And if you’re my husband, I want a Trampoline!
Healthy Eating:
- A fruit basket. Really, I cannot emphasize enough how I would prefer to receive even a single apple than a box of cookies or chocolates! It’s hard enough that the entire season is “feasting” for me, having tempting sugary snacks in my pantry won’t help.
- A certificate for healthy cooking class.
- A slow cooker, rice cooker or steamer and a cookbook to encourage home cooking.
Relaxation:
- A gift card to a spa for a relaxing massage would be awesome. If you’re the super generous type, a weekend at a spa resort would be heaven sent!
- Nice set of pillows, satin sheets, and mattress cover to promote better sleep!
- Volunteer your time to babysit or watch the kids so they could spend a day for themselves.
- Aromatherapy candles.
