I multi-task, ALL THE TIME. Really, even in my sleep. That’s why I wake up sometimes with an injury, usually I dislocate something. I could be doing chores while I’m trying to get my rest or I may be trying to workout because that’s the only time I can do it, for all I know. It seems like when you’re a mom, you have to multi-task. Like right now, I’m writing this post on my lunch break from my work from home fulltime job, while waiting for my pasta to cook, and talking to my kids’ school admin on the phone.
Smartphones like iPhones even made it worse. I am online all the time, making it possible for me to check my emails, facebook, or twitter, anytime and anywhere. And though I don’t do it while driving, I sometimes do it on red lights while waiting or when I’m stuck in the traffic. Which is sooo wrong!
That is why I’m joining forces with The Motherhood to significantly curb the insidious public safety threat posed by distracted driving. I signed the pledge and promised NEVER to do this again for the safety of my kids and the public. And now I am asking you, my hot moms, to do your part and be a good role model to our kids.
Here is how you can get involved:
- Sign the pledge to “keep your mind on the wheel”; model mindful, safe driving to our kids; and set firm house rules about no phone/texting/driving with your kids and family
- Spread the word by putting the “Mom Sends the Msg” badge on your site, tweeting and putting it in your facebook statuses
- Join on as a “Mom on Board” Ambassador – email contact@themotherhood.com for a special Ambassador badge and more information
- If you represent an organization or web community, sign on as a “Key” Alliance – email contact@themotherhood.com for more information
- Participate in the Mom Sends the Msg public service contest
Let’s show them that hot moms have the power to make a major difference in the distracted driving problem we are facing right now.

Thank you for posting this! I took the pledge.
What a great pledge, I already refuse to use my cell while driving and try to play it safe all the time, mainly cuz I am a stickler for safety especially while driving
Thanks for sharing this as we do occasionally do things at stop lights, etc as you said!
I read so many cases of accidents happening all because the driver didn’t pay enough attention on the road. Always wondered why people were crashing into lorries parked by the side of the road, even in broad daylight. Now I guess I know why.
