How do I love my smart phone? Let me count the ways:
- I’m able to check my emails on the go. Extremely important especially when my kid’s school and teachers communicate primarily through emails.
- My address book / email contacts are all synched into one single contacts file. Saves me a LOT of mom time coz I only have to maintain one list.
- My calendar, my oh my, I adore, oh wait, I love, oh wait, I WORSHIP the calendar function! Giving birth to two kids already, it’s hard enough to remember my own appointments / activities /meetings, etc. let alone remembering stuff too for my two kids, AND my husband (who’s got his own smart phone, by the way), AND for our pug Zoe (yes, she’s got a social life too)!
- To do list. As if the calendar function is not enough, I get to list my “to do’s” on this nice, organized by priority and due date list. It’s so awesome!
- Banking on the go. I love this app especially when I need to check our finances or perform transactions, in a hurry!
- Social Media. I get to connect with my social media friends wherever and whenever. Facebook, twitter, skype, YM, etc. So fun!
- Weather tracking. Another lifeline. I love this app! It’s the first thing I check every weekday before I get up and prepare the kids to school!
- Grocery List. My fave. I heart this app. No more lost list. I even have a different list for different stores so if I go unplanned, I have a list of what we need in the house — handy! Complete with pictures of the items, prices, and sizes! What more can I ask for! And oh, I can also email the list to hubby and he wouldn’t have to guess anymore, coz he usually miss what I ask him to buy! Another lifesaver!
- iPod. I love listening to music when I walk, work, or workout. So I don’t have to carry different devices anymore!
- Internet. Of course. I’m a paranoid mom and before I buy anything I’m not familiar of, I research it first. This comes in very, very handy, when I’m already in the store and trying to decide whether or not to buy something.
- Camera / photos. I need to be always ready to take pictures whenever and wherever with my family’s busy schedule. And of course, I need to be able to show it off as well!
- Alarm clock. I don’t trust my alarm clock anymore that’s why I use my smart phone’s alarm clock feature. I can set different times it will go off. Very reliable and very useful when travelling as well.
My list could go on and on… There’s just too many reasons why I so love my smart phone. The point is, as a mom, I multi-task all the time. And as a multi-tasker, I need something that can keep up with my multi-tasking and busy lifestyle, and be compact and reliable as well. My smart phone can be all that… and more!
Verizon and JuiceBoxJungle sponsored me to write this post, and they asked me to talk about the ways my smart phone affects my life as a parent.
