I always look forward for this weekly post as I get to share my successes and challenges in my journey to fitness as part of the Mamavation campaign.
Successes:
- Right on track with the EA Sports Active. Three more workout days and I’m officially done with the 30-day challenge. Though there’s no pounds lost this week, I’m happy that my body is actually craving for workout on days that I’m suppose to rest from EA Sports Active. In fact, there were days that I completely forgot about the rest day, and I just went ahead and worked out.
- Been switching different bands and weights in place of the band that came in with EA Sports Active. This means my left arm is now getting better that I’m able to take more challenge though I still have to be really careful not to strain it too much.
- The kids found a new way to be active while at home. Though they’re not into Wii fit and EA Sports this past two weeks, that’s because they just want to skate and roller blade inside the house. They put their skates as soon as they get home and just skate their way until it’s time for bed. Maybe I need a pair too! LOL!
- We ate more veggies this week, yay! While I don’t have problems getting my kids eat fresh fruits, they are very picky when it comes to veggies, unless I puree it and add it to dishes or I finely chop it. But I’ve been cooking Filipino dishes with okra, bok choy, eggplant, and string beans, and they have been eating each and every one of them.
Challenges:
- While I’m on track with EA Sports Active, my husband only worked out once this week. He has been very tired with work, and with him working at nights, I can’t just force him to workout when I can really see how tired he is.
- I had cravings for Cadbury chocolates! We don’t have any chocolates and candies here at home so when I was craving for one, I told myself I’ll just sleep it off. Which I did, but my husband got home from work with 4 bars of Cadbury, and the rest is history. Oh well.
- I mentioned in my previous posts that our family loves to eat, and this weekend, we ate out at Sushi station. We love Japanese food and so it was hard to restrain myself from eating too much. Though I felt I did good, we still had to walk at the mall after, so we can burn all those calories!
Hope everyone had an active week as well!

I would love to see a vlog of the EA sports in action – I don’t have that and I’m not sure if I’ll enjoy it or not.
You’re being an aweseom role model for your kids and I love how you can see the big picture – who cares if they rollerblade in the house – at least they’re being active – kudos to you!

I had a major craving for chocolate yesterday too! I satisfied it by munching on a granola bar that had chocolate in it. So glad it worked!

We have trouble adding in veggies, too. I just bought the sneaky chef cookbook to work on some purees to add in. Wow, you are almost done with your 30 day challenge. Way to Go!

I have such a hard time getting my son to eat veggies. He is autistic and I have had difficulty since he was a baby…he would just throw up whenever we would try it. He is just starting to eat mashed potatoes so I was thinking of maybe trying the puree method to add some others into those. If he sees any veggies in a meal, even a cassarole he will pick them all out.

It sounds like you are doing great! i really want to try the EA challenge.
I am the same way – my body is craving the endorphins from exercise and I love it!! That is a craving that I love giving in to!
What a fun way to get your kids active at home? What kind of flooring do you have? It would easier to skate on hardwood and tile than carpet, I’m sure!
Great job on having a plan to deal with over-indulging! I did the same this weekend. Too much food = more exercise!
Is sushi really that bad for you?
Nice job last week!
You have done a wonderful job! I\’m craving Cadbury, too, but I blame Pete for mentioning it.
Keep up the good work!

Wow!! Way to go on the 30 day challenge! That’s amazing, you should be so proud of yourself.
Keep up the amazing work. I am also having trouble getting my husband moving… but he does not work nights. Good luck. I’m looking forward to your post next week.
You did great this week. I hope you do not get discouraged with your workouts if your husband choose to slack off on his. You are setting a great example for your family. Also kudos for meeting your challenges from last week head on.

You are doing so good girl! Keep it up! I have been slacking the past day or two, with my cravings that is! I was doing so good at fighting them off, as we don’t have much food but for the past 24 hours I am just craving salty things!! UGH!! Each day I make sure to focus on eating healthy though and of course fitness, I also make sure not to get myself down if I feed into a craving, I simply move forward!!

I just love how you get your whole family involved. My husband is about the same. He’s constantly bring sweets home and he working out at the club maybe once a week. It’s a start for him though.
It sounds like a blast that your kids can skate in the house! My kids would love that…my carpets would not. hehe Next house will have hard wood!
I don’t think I’ll ever get through the challenge! I use it often, but I’ve got a small attention span, so I make my own workouts a lot! Good for you for getting through it – that is fantastic! You’ll have to tell us if confetti falls from you ceiling.
Have a great week!
