If you’re having unexplained headaches or back pains, brittle nails and hair, frequent allergies, exposure to cleansing solvents, pesticides, diuretics and certain drugs, etc. or having memory problems, it could be a sign that you need to detoxify.
Detoxification is the process of eliminating toxic substances in our body caused by environment, our exposure to industrial chemicals, pesticides, additives in our foods, secondary smoke, pollutants, etc.
Detoxification is one of the best ways to remain healthy in a polluted and toxic environment. It’s benefits include liver, kidney, and blood purification, stimulate immune system, enhance hormonal system, and reduce dependency on substances like sugar, alcohiol, nicotine, and caffeine. Healthy individuals nowadays detoxify regularly to keep their body system in pristine condition.
I’ve detoxified before and consulted with my doctor to find the best type of detoxification for me. I had the month-long process. I thought I was gonna give up on the first few days but it got better and I was able to complete it. I felt like a car that just had an engine flush!
Here are some at-home routines that can help you get rid of some toxins from your body but these are not full-blown detoxification regimen and will not produce significant results:
Epsom Bath Salts
Hot water draws toxins out of the body to the skin’s surface, and while the water cools it pulls toxins from the skin. Epsom salts augment this detoxification by causing you to sweat. Also, when added to water, these natural salts can help to cleanse your colon.
Lemon Water
Just add lemon to your water through out the day. The acid in the lemon assists the cleansing process. Citrus fruits, such as lemons, contain a pure, concentrated form of citric acid. Citric acid works like bleach on fat. Due to its acidity and high pH, citric acid is able to actually penetrate and break down fat molecules.
If you are seriously considering detox to improve your overall health and wellness, do not, I repeat, DO NOT just run into the store and buy yourself an in-home detox kit. I strongly urge you to consult with your doctor, or a specialized doctor, to find out what type of detoxification regimen is appropriate for your body and condition.

I am glad you wrote about this, I have been thinking about detox but hadn’t figured out the best way. At this moment without insurance I am unable to consult a doctor so I have been waiting til I can get into a doctor through a financial aid plan!
